Nubia just dropped a surprise for fans before their big Z80 Ultra launch. They’re releasing a special Luo Tianyi edition that looks pretty sweet. If you’re wondering who Luo Tianyi is, she’s this super popular virtual singer in China with tons of followers who love her music and character.
The limited edition Z80 Ultra comes in a bright red color with Luo Tianyi’s anime character splashed across the back. It’s got her name printed at the bottom too, making it instantly recognizable for fans. If red isn’t your thing, don’t worry – Nubia will also sell the phone in White, Phantom Black, and a fancy Starry Sky Collector’s Edition.
Inside, this phone packs some serious power. It runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip with the fastest RAM and storage you can get in phones today. Gamers will appreciate that it borrows the gaming engine from Nubia’s Red Magic gaming phones.
Camera-wise, the Z80 Ultra sounds impressive. It’s got a special 35mm lens that supposedly takes photos like a professional camera, plus an 18mm ultra-wide and a periscope zoom that can even take super close-up macro shots. Nubia’s been showing off some sample photos, and they look pretty good.
The screen is huge at 6.85 inches with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. It’s got all those eye protection features too, which is nice if you stare at your phone all day like I do.
Battery life shouldn’t be an issue with its massive 7200mAh battery. When it does run low, the 90W wired charging or 80W wireless charging will juice it back up crazy fast.
Nubia Z80 Ultra Price and availability
The official launch happens October 22nd at 2PM, so we’ll know everything else about the phone then. We’re curious about the price – these limited editions usually cost a bit more, but they make great collector’s items.
