Here’s something interesting that just popped up on China’s certification database. Xiaomi isn’t sticking to their usual two-phone fall launch this year. Instead, they’re apparently going all-in with three flagship devices, and they’re all getting a nice charging boost.
The Xiaomi 16, 16 Pro, and what’s being called the 16 Pro Max have all shown up on the 3C certification site. That’s usually a pretty solid sign that phones are getting close to launch. What caught everyone’s attention? All three are listed with 100W wired charging support.
Now, 100W isn’t exactly groundbreaking in 2025. But it’s still a step up from the 90W that powered last year’s Xiaomi 15 series. Every bit of speed helps when you’re rushing out the door with a dead phone, right?
The timing makes sense too. Qualcomm’s planning to unveil their Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor at their developer summit from September 23-25. Word is that Xiaomi’s going to be the first company to actually launch phones with this new chip. We’re talking about devices that could hit the market just days after Qualcomm’s big reveal.
That’s a pretty aggressive timeline, but Xiaomi’s done it before. They love being first to market with the latest processors, and it usually works out well for them.
The whole three-phone strategy is new territory for Xiaomi’s fall launches. Usually, they stick with two flagships in China, then bring one globally a few months later. This year’s looking different though. The 16 Pro Max is the wild card here – it’s not the Ultra model everyone’s expecting. That’s still coming later, probably early next year.
What’s really interesting is the Pro Max might pack some serious hardware. Recent leaks suggest it could have a massive 7,500mAh battery and a triple 50MP camera setup. If that’s accurate, we’re looking at a phone that could easily handle heavy daily use without breaking a sweat.
The global launch situation is still up in the air. Xiaomi typically brings their vanilla model worldwide first, but with three phones in the mix this time, who knows which ones will make it outside China. That’s probably still months away anyway.
Between the faster charging, new processor, and this expanded lineup, Xiaomi’s clearly not holding back this fall. The question is whether all three phones will actually find their audience, or if having too many options might confuse buyers. We’ll find out soon enough.
