Honor just dropped their newest budget phone, and honestly, it’s pretty solid for the price range. The X7d comes packed with some decent features that might catch your eye if you’re looking for an affordable Android device.
This phone rocks a big 6.77-inch LCD screen that goes up to 120Hz. Sure, it’s still stuck with 720p+ resolution, but that smooth refresh rate makes scrolling feel way nicer than cheaper phones. The display isn’t going to blow your mind, but it gets the job done.
Honor really went all-out on making this thing tough. They got SGS 5-star certification for drop protection and IP65 rating. That means it can handle dust and water splashes without freaking out. Pretty smart move for a budget phone that’ll probably take some hits.
The camera setup is straightforward but decent. You get a 108MP main shooter with f/1.75 aperture plus a basic 2MP depth sensor on the back. The front camera sits at 8MP with f/2.0 aperture. Nothing fancy here, but that 108MP count should give you some solid daylight photos.
Here’s where things get interesting – that massive 6,500mAh battery. This thing should easily last you a full day, maybe even stretch into two days with light usage. Plus, it supports 35W fast charging, so you won’t be stuck waiting around forever when it needs juice.
Honor went with the Snapdragon 685 processor, which is about two years old now but still handles everyday tasks just fine. You can grab it with either 12GB RAM and 128GB storage, 16GB RAM with 128GB storage, or the top option with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage.
The phone ships with MagicOS 9.0 sitting on top of Android 15. That’s pretty current software-wise, though Honor hasn’t said much about how long they’ll keep pushing updates.
Color options look nice too – Desert Gold, Ocean Cyan, Meteor Silver, and Velvet Black. Four solid choices that should fit most people’s style.
The X7d seems like Honor’s playing it safe with proven features rather than trying anything wild. Sometimes that’s exactly what works best in the budget space.
