Honor 400 Pro

Honor 400 Pro Review: It really feels like Honor has ticked all the right boxes with the Honor 400 Pro. From the ultra-bright AMOLED screen and powerful triple-camera setup to its snappy performance and surprisingly fast charging, this phone comes across like it’s been carefully designed, not just slapped together. And in China, where buyers get a 100W charger, Honor Choice Earbuds Clip, and even a one-time screen replacement for free, the overall value is hard to ignore.

Let’s break down what makes the Honor 400 Pro feel like a proper premium phone — and where it might not be for everyone.

Honor 400 Pro: Design & Build

You know a phone is doing something right when it feels expensive before you even turn on the screen. The Honor 400 Pro definitely gives off that vibe. It has a smooth glass front and back, with a slim, slightly curved body that’s easy to hold but does have a bit of weight to it (205g). It’s not annoyingly heavy, but you’ll notice it during longer Netflix sessions or gaming.

The finish doesn’t pick up fingerprints too badly, and despite the glossy look, it isn’t slippery. Also, this phone is IP68 and IP69 rated, so it’s not just splash-proof — it’s ready for rainstorms and the occasional accidental dunk without blinking. Overall, it’s a solid-feeling device that doesn’t cut corners in the design department.

Honor 400 Pro: Display

The display is one of the phone’s biggest highlights. You get a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen that hits up to 5000 nits peak brightness, which is wild. Most phones, even pricier ones, don’t get anywhere near that bright. This means you can read texts, watch videos, or snap photos even in direct sunlight without a problem.

Colors are rich, blacks are deep, and the screen supports HDR Vivid, so movies and YouTube videos look fantastic. Scrolling feels fluid thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate, and day-to-day use — even just swiping through TikTok or Instagram — feels slick and snappy.

Honor 400 Pro: Performance

When it comes to everyday speed, the Honor 400 Pro doesn’t flinch. Whether you’re switching between WhatsApp, Spotify, Maps, or Chrome tabs, everything loads quickly and runs smoothly. There’s no noticeable lag, even when you’ve got a bunch of apps running in the background.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, but the important thing is — it just works. Games like Genshin Impact or Call of Duty Mobile run well on high settings, and the phone stays cool unless you really push it for an extended period.

It’s the kind of performance that just fades into the background — which is exactly what you want in a phone.

Sharp portraits, even in low light

The camera setup is solid and actually useful. The 200MP main sensor delivers detailed, balanced shots in daylight. Colors feel natural, not over-saturated, and skin tones look right — which isn’t always the case with high-megapixel phones.

The 50MP telephoto lens gives you real 3x zoom with surprisingly sharp results. It’s great for street photography or grabbing details from far away. There’s also a 12MP ultra-wide, and while it’s not as standout as the other two, it does the job for landscape or group shots.

Low-light performance is… decent. Night Mode helps, and the main sensor captures a good amount of light, but it’s not going to blow your mind. If you take a lot of night-time photos, you might want to manage your expectations.

Up front, you get a 50MP selfie camera with a 2MP depth sensor. It’s excellent in daylight — detailed and sharp without going overboard on smoothing. Indoors or in low light, the quality drops a bit, but it’s still very usable for video calls or casual selfies.

Honor 400 Pro: Battery

Battery life here is impressive. The 5300mAh battery easily lasts a full day of normal to heavy use — that includes scrolling, streaming, navigating, and snapping pics. With lighter use, it can stretch into a second day.

What really stands out is the charging. With the included 100W wired charger, you can go from 0 to 50% in about 15 minutes, and 100% in under 40 minutes. That’s faster than most flagships right now. It also supports 50W wireless charging and reverse charging if you want to top up your earbuds or another phone.

Honor 400 Pro: Software

The phone runs Android 15 with MagicOS 9 on top, and it’s clean and responsive. There are a few pre-installed apps, but nothing that feels too spammy, and most of it can be uninstalled.

Honor’s software has come a long way — the animations are smooth, the layout makes sense, and features like split-screen multitasking and app cloning are easy to use.

And yes — six years of Android updates is part of the deal. That’s excellent, especially for a phone at this price.

Honor 400 Pro: Audio & Haptics

The stereo speakers are loud, clear, and well-balanced — good enough for casual movie watching or music playback without headphones. There’s no headphone jack, but that’s expected in 2025.

Haptics are okay, but not amazing. The vibration feedback is a bit soft and doesn’t feel as tight or precise as more expensive phones. Not a dealbreaker, just something to note if you’re picky about how your phone feels when you type.

Final Verdict

The Honor 400 Pro feels like a phone made for real users — the ones who scroll a lot, stream on the go, and don’t want to charge their phone twice a day. It nails all the basics and throws in a few nice extras, like 3x zoom and crazy-fast charging, to make it stand out.
