Honor just dropped a new budget-friendly phone, and this one has a key upgrade everyone seems to want. Meet the Honor X7d 5G. It follows last month’s 4G version but swaps in a faster chip that lets you connect to the next-generation networks.
The heart of this phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor. That’s the main reason to pick this model over the older one. It promises smoother performance for everyday tasks and, of course, access to much faster 5G speeds. It’s a practical choice for the price.
You might notice one change with the cameras. Instead of the huge 108MP sensor on the 4G model, this version uses a 50MP main camera. Honestly, for most people, a well-tuned 50MP camera is more than enough for clear photos, especially in good light. The selfie camera is now 5MP, down from 8MP. It’s a bit of a trade-off, but it probably helps Honor hit this attractive price point.
Everything else is pretty much the same, which is a good thing. You get a large 6.77-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling feel very fluid. The best part might be the massive 6,500 mAh battery. That’s enough power to easily last a couple of days on a single charge. When you do need to power up, the 35W wired charging will get you back to full speed quickly.
It even lets you charge other devices, like wireless earbuds, using reverse wired charging. The phone runs the latest Android 15 software with Honor’s Magic OS 9 on top.

The Honor X7d 5G comes in two elegant colors, Velvet Black and Desert Gold. For now, it’s available in Malaysia with a price tag of MYR 699, which is about $166 or €155. This model is available with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
We expect Honor to bring this model to more countries soon, offering a solid option for anyone looking for an affordable 5G phone with a giant battery.
