MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Geekbench Score Reveals Power

MediaTek’s new flagship chip, the Dimensity 9500, has just appeared on Geekbench with real scores and specs that show what it can really do. Let’s break it down.

What we learned from Geekbench

MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Geekbench Score Reveals Power
Dimenisty 9500 Geekbench listing
  • The chip uses an 8-core setup:
    • 1× “Travis” (Cortex‑X930) core at 3.23 GHz
    • 3× “Alto” (Cortex‑X9) cores at 3.03 GHz
    • 4× “Gelas” (A7 family) cores at 2.23 GHz
  • For graphics, it features a Mali‑G1‑Ultra MC12 GPU—not the Immortalis‑branded GPU many expected
  • It uses TSMC’s N3P 3 nm process, with 16 MB L3 cache and 10 MB system cache
  • Memory and storage support include quad‑channel LPDDR5X at 10 667 Mbps and 4‑lane UFS 4.1
  • A strong NPU (neural engine) is expected to hit 100 TOPS for AI tasks

Geekbench performance scores

Early Geekbench 6 results (engineering sample, so not final):

  • Single-core: over 3 900
  • Multi-core: over 11 000
These show a big jump from the Dimensity 9400 (2 900 single / 9 200 multi). It even matches the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 in overall performance.

Why it matters

  • Faster speeds: With the new core setup, it’s up to ~49% faster in single-core tasks and ~36% faster in multi-core apps compared to its predecessor.
  • Better battery use: Built on the improved 3 nm process (N3P), it should use less power without losing performance.
  • Sharper graphics: The Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 GPU is geared to deliver ray tracing and smooth visuals while being more energy-efficient.

Coming soon: when and where?

MediaTek plans to unveil the Dimensity 9500 around early to mid-September 2025—aiming to launch before Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. Phones from Vivo and Oppo with this chip are expected to follow soon after.

Final Thoughts

  1. Speedy core design – with Travis and Alto cores, tasks and games should feel super snappy.
  2. Smart energy use – the 3 nm chip is more power-efficient.
  3. Strong graphics and AI – thanks to Mali‑G1‑Ultra and NPU upgrades.
  4. Performance boost – Geekbench results show big improvements over older models.

MediaTek is stepping up its game. The Dimensity 9500 looks like a strong competitor in the premium chip space, and we’ll soon see real-world proof once it goes official and hits devices. Stay tuned!
