iQOO is going big on zoom this fall. The company shared iQOO 15 telephoto camera samples on its official Weibo to show what its periscope zoom camera can do at long range. It’s pushing up to 100x digital zoom, and the iQOO 15 is set to launch in China in October.
The sample shots are meant to highlight reach and fine detail from far away. Brand-picked photos usually come from bright scenes, which is normal. What really matters for daily use is how clean and steady images look at 5x to 10x, since that is where most people actually shoot.
A periscope design helps here because you get real optical zoom before software steps in. The 100x number grabs attention, sure, but usable mid‑range zoom is the part you will lean on every week.

iQOO has also been teasing hardware to match the camera push. The iQOO 15 will run OriginOS based on Android 16 in China, include wireless charging, and use Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 series platform with an extra gaming chip for smoother frame rates.
A triple rear setup is confirmed, and the back panel can shift color under light, which is a fun touch if you like phones with personality.
On the rumor side, noted tipster Digital Chat Station says the iQOO 15 may carry a 7,000 mAh battery with 100W wired charging, plus a 50MP periscope camera and a 50MP main sensor around 1/1.5 inch in size. Treat that as leak info until launch.
If it lands, the iQOO 15 7,000 mAh battery would be huge for a flagship and great news for gamers and heavy users. Pair that with a 144Hz high refresh, QHD 6.85-inch AMOLED display and a strong Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and you are looking at long play sessions without babysitting a charger.
A quick note on zoom claims for context. When brands advertise 100x zoom, that final step is digital. The optical part is usually 5x or 10x, then multi‑frame processing takes it farther.
What you want to see at launch are crisp 10x photos, stable video, and good color match between the main and the periscope lens. If iQOO nails those, the iQOO 15 periscope zoom camera could be a real highlight for travel and sports shots.
The exact iQOO 15 launch date in China has not been posted yet, but with official camera teasers already out, an announcement should follow soon.
