It looks like Sony’s next mid-range phone, the Xperia 10 VII, is getting closer to a real launch. After its predecessor, the Xperia 10 VI, came out last June, fans have been waiting to see what’s next. Now, fresh leaks, including new pictures and a list of specs from a premature retail listing, give us a much clearer picture of the upcoming device.
The biggest news might be the new look. For the first time in a while, Sony seems to be changing things up with a redesigned camera layout on the back. But the details from a recent leak in Hong Kong spill even more secrets. The phone is expected to run on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, which is a solid choice for a mid-range device. It also appears to come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that you can expand with a memory card.
For photos, the Xperia 10 VII is said to have a dual-camera system on the back, featuring a 50MP main sensor and a 13MP secondary camera, which will likely be for ultrawide shots. An 8MP camera on the front will handle selfies.
The display will be a 6.1-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1080×2340, which should make for a sharp and vibrant viewing experience. A 5,000 mAh battery will power the phone, which is a pretty standard size these days and should provide good battery life. The phone is also surprisingly light, weighing just 169g, and will be available in colors which are Charcoal Black, Cedar White, and Turquoise. One slightly odd detail is that it’s expected to launch with Android 15.
While Sony hasn’t said a word officially, these kinds of detailed leaks usually mean an announcement isn’t too far off. With all this information already out there, it feels like we’re just waiting for Sony to make it official.
