Redmi Note 15 Debuts: OLED Display, 5,800mAh Battery, and Killer Pricing

Redmi Note 15

Redmi has just released the Redmi Note 15 into the Chinese markets with the Note 15 Pro and Note 15 Pro+. The base model is the one most buyers will watch, and it brings a bigger battery, a brighter OLED screen, and a cleaner design compared to last year’s Note 14 5G. It’s priced really well, just like Redmi always does, and tough to ignore on day one.

Let’s start with the display, because it’s a big step up. The Redmi Note 15 uses a 6.77-inch OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and a claimed 3,200 nits peak brightness, paired with an in‑display fingerprint reader. That’s a real upgrade for this price class and should help with sunlight visibility and smooth scrolling in daily use. The phone is thin and lightweight given its size and yes, it does keep the clean minimalist look so liked by Redmi fans.

Inside, Redmi went with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. It’s not a flagship chip, but it’s plenty for social apps, streaming, and casual gaming, and it comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage for decent app load times. You get Android 15-based HyperOS 2 out of the box, which is Redmi’s latest software build on this hardware series. Storage options are sensible: 6/128, 8/128, 8/256, and 12/256, so it’s easy to pick what fits the budget and still leave breathing room for photos and apps.

On the back, there’s a 50MP main camera (Light Fusion 400 sensor) with f/1.8, plus a 2MP depth helper. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera for video calls and snaps. It’s not a camera-first phone, but the basics are covered—sharp daylight shots from the main camera, serviceable selfies, and a simple portrait mode.

Battery life is what most should be talking about. The Note 15 features a 5,800 mAh battery with 45W wired charging and 18W wired reverse charging. That’s a nice safety net for a travel day or long commute. You also get IP66 dust and water resistance, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an infrared blaster for TV control, 5G, Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC—solid essentials for an everyday phone.

Chinese pricing is very competitive and would be recommended:

  • 6GB/128GB: CNY 999 (about $141/€129)
  • 8GB/128GB: CNY 1,099 (about $154/€142)
  • 8GB/256GB: CNY 1,299 (about $182/€168)
  • 12GB/256GB: CNY 1,499 (about $210/€194)

Color options include Midnight Black, Sky Blue, and Star White, and sales have already started in China through Xiaomi’s official channels. If shopping locally, it’s on the Xiaomi store and major retail partners right now.

Redmi Note 15 is a solid refresh. The OLED screen is the main attraction, the battery is large enough to quash range anxiety, and the price points make it an easy choice for students, travelers, or anyone who does not want to spend a lot on a highly satisfying Android phone. The Note 15 sits comfortably in the middle of the series—skip the fancy cameras of the Pro models, but you still get everything you actually need for daily use.
