Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Launching May 13: Meet Samsung’s Slimmest Flagship Yet

Samsung S25 Edge Launch Date Leaked

If you believed that Samsung had already stacked the Galaxy S25 lineup, then they’d have one more surprise in store. The much-talked-about Galaxy S25 Edge is finally (almost) here, and it’s all set to go official on May 13. Leaks from folks like Evan Blass have pretty much confirmed the details, and yeah—it’s looking like the S25 Edge is Samsung’s sleekest and lightest phone yet. China and Korea start selling on May 23, followed by the U.S. and other countries getting it on May 30.

Build & Design

The main headline here? This phone is just 5.85mm thick. That’s thinner than anything Samsung’s done in years—and honestly, thinner than most premium phones out there right now. They achieved this by utilizing Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the rear and a new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front. Despite the tough materials, it weighs only 163 grams, which is wild for a phone in this class.

Samsung will launch it in three sleek finishes—Titanium Silver, a cool Icy Blue, and the ever-classy Jet Black. Fancy stuff.

Display

With a refreshed design in tow, Samsung isn’t ditching the essentials — you’re still getting that crisp 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display paired with a slick 120Hz refresh rate. But visually? The Edge looks quite different from the regular S25s. It’s got a shiny rear panel and a new pill-shaped dual-camera module that feels like a preview of what we might see on the S26 series.

Processor

The S25 Edge runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Elite,” a serious powerhouse that keeps everything running fast and fluid. It comes with options for either 256GB or 512GB of storage, paired with 12GB of RAM to handle all your multitasking needs. That’s plenty of power for most folks, even gamers and multitaskers. To be clear, however, brute force isn’t the only option here. The real focus is on making a thin phone that still feels fast and premium.

Camera

You’d think a super-thin phone would compromise on camera tech. Not here. According to reports, the S25 Edge has a 200MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 12MP selfie camera. So, you’re getting flagship-grade optics, just in a thinner shell.

Battery

Now here’s where it gets a bit tricky. To stay this slim, Samsung went with a 3,900mAh battery—which is smaller than what you’ll find in the S25+ or Ultra models. It’s not a dealbreaker, but yeah, you might notice the difference if you’re a heavy user. It supports 25W charging, same as other Samsung flagships.

Audio

It comes with just one bottom speaker. No stereo setup here. And no, there’s still no headphone jack (RIP). Like most modern phones, this one sticks with the USB-C port to handle audio output.

Release date and prices

  • May 13 – May 13 – Virtual launch event
  • May 23 – Hits stores in Korea and China
  • May 30 – Global release (India, US, Europe)

Pricing? The 256GB model is tipped to cost ₩1,500,000 (around ₹89,200), while the 512GB variant may go up to ₩1,630,000 (roughly ₹97,000). Expect Samsung’s usual launch perks like a double-storage upgrade if you pre-order early.

India launch status

The good news is that Samsung’s S25 Edge is undoubtedly being considered after recently passing India’s BIS certification, so it’s definitely on the radar. But based on past trends, India’s release might lag a little behind the global launch. Still, it’s expected to slot in between the regular S25 and the Ultra in both specs and price.

Final Thoughts

The Galaxy S25 Edge looks like Samsung’s most interesting experiment in years. It’s thin, light, powerful, and different enough to stand out in a sea of lookalike flagships. Sure, there are trade-offs—like a smaller battery and just one speaker—but the sleek design and high-end internals could win over buyers who care more about style and portability than raw specs.
