OnePlus 15 Could Bring a New Look, Smarter Camera, and Simpler Display

OnePlus 15 Specs, Camera, and Display Changes Explained

OnePlus is working on its next flagship phone, and it might be called the OnePlus 15 instead of 14. This is due to the fact that in certain Asian cultures, the number 4 is seen as unlucky — a belief that has previously led OnePlus to skip numbering sequences. However, it’s not just the name that’s being updated.

Based on reliable reports, OnePlus is making some bold choices this time — from camera design to screen resolution — and it’s clearly trying to focus on what really matters to users.

A Simpler Screen That Still Looks Sharp

The OnePlus 15 is expected to come with a 6.78-inch flat display. That means no curved edges this time. The bezels will be super thin on all sides, giving it a clean and modern look.

Now, here’s a small but important change: the screen will likely use a 1.5K resolution instead of the higher-res QHD+ found in previous models. That might sound like a step down, but for most people, the difference is hard to notice. Plus, this move helps reduce power use and makes the phone run cooler — and that means better battery life and smoother performance overall.

New Camera Setup and Possibly a New Brand

OnePlus is also changing the camera design. Say goodbye to the round camera bump. The OnePlus 15 will come with a new camera layout on the back and include a 50MP main camera, plus a periscope-style zoom camera, which should help capture clearer photos from far away.

What’s really interesting is that OnePlus is planning to introduce its own imaging brand for the first time. Right now, it’s not confirmed whether this will replace the Hasselblad partnership or work alongside it. Some sources suggest it might use Oppo’s Lumo branding, which focuses on better image quality and advanced processing.

In short, expect better photo results and smarter camera tools, even if the branding changes.

No Pro Model This Time?

One surprising detail is that OnePlus may only release one version of the OnePlus 15. That means no Pro model like we’ve seen in past years. This move could help keep things simpler for buyers and allow OnePlus to pour all of its focus (and money) into making a single great phone.

Expected Features at a Glance

FeatureDetails (Expected)
Display6.78″ flat, 1.5K resolution, thin bezels
Main Camera50MP, with new imaging system
Zoom CameraPeriscope-style telephoto lens
Camera BrandingPossibly new OnePlus imaging brand
Hasselblad PartnershipStill unclear
Model VariantsLikely only one (no Pro model)
Expected LaunchLate 2025 (TBA)

Final Thoughts

The OnePlus 15 is shaping up to be a phone that’s smarter, cleaner, and more focused. By choosing a flatter screen, updated cameras, and likely skipping the Pro model, OnePlus seems to be building a phone that puts real everyday use first — not just big numbers on paper.

There’s still more to learn in the coming months, especially about the software and camera results, but so far, this looks like a thoughtful refresh of the flagship series.
