Motorola is gearing up to refresh its budget smartphone lineup with the Moto G 2026 and Moto G Power 2026, and the first credible leaks-surfacing just days ago-suggest the brand is sticking to its winning formula while making some timely upgrades for 2026 buyers.

Moto G 2026 Features

You’re still getting that same design—this time with a soft, slate-blue vegan leather rear, Meanwhile, the Moto G Power 2026 (model XT2615-1) is expected to feature a plastic rear panel finished in Pantone 431C. The Power variant looks chunkier, almost certainly to accommodate another large 5,000mAh battery feature that’s become a staple for the series.

Both phones are expected to sport expansive 6.7- 6.8-inch displays, triple-camera setups headlined by a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), and an 8MP ultrawide camera. Notably, leaks point out that the third “lens” is actually an ambient light sensor, a clever design trick to maintain the triple-camera look without extra hardware cost.

Under the hood, Motorola is reportedly upgrading to the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, a modest but meaningful jump over last year’s Dimensity 6300, and both devices will ship with Android 16 out of the box-keeping them current with Google’s latest features and security. Expect Motorola to continue its promise of two major Android updates, based on its recent track record.

Other standout features include IP68 water and dust protection, 30W fast charging, and the return of Pantone-certified colors, which Motorola continues to use for extra style and uniqueness.

Moto G Price and Availability

Although Motorola hasn’t officially confirmed the launch, everything suggests a January 2026 debut, likely after CES, with the U.S. release expected around the same time. And price-wise, Motorola is expected to stick to its previous playbook, setting the Moto G 2026 at $199 and the G Power 2026 at $299. Rumors suggest a December 2025 release in India and other international markets, following Motorola’s typical launch pattern.

Final Thoughts

Some key details-like exact RAM and storage options, display refresh rates, or whether Motorola will introduce new AI features seen in rivals-remain unconfirmed. But with the leaks gaining momentum and more regulatory filings expected in the coming weeks, the picture should get clearer soon.

Motorola’s approach for 2026 is evolutionary, not revolutionary, but the combination of larger displays, reliable battery life, and up-to-date software keeps the Moto G series at the top of the budget phone conversation. If you’re looking for a wallet-friendly upgrade with modern essentials, these devices are shaping up to be strong contenders.
