OnePlus Nord CE5 Leak: 7,100mAh Battery, Chipset Upgrade Expected

OnePlus is reportedly working on the next addition to its mid-range Nord lineup — the Nord CE5 — and the standout detail so far is the huge 7,100mAh battery. That’s a big leap from the 5,500mAh unit in the Nord CE4, and it could make this one of the longest-lasting phones in its segment.

Launch

No official word yet from OnePlus, but going by their usual cycle, the CE5 might debut sometime this quarter. The CE4 launched in April last year, so history could repeat.

Design

Not much is known about the CE5’s design yet. But if OnePlus sticks to its playbook, expect a clean, minimal look with decent ergonomics — nothing flashy, but solid.

Display

Display specs haven’t leaked either. But based on previous CE phones, a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate seems very likely. It’s become the sweet spot for this price segment.

Camera

The camera setup remains a mystery for now. However, OnePlus tends to offer a 50MP main shooter with basic ultrawide and depth sensors on its CE series. Expect more of the same unless they decide to shake things up.

Processor and Performance

As for performance, there’s still some uncertainty. The Nord CE5 is expected to feature either the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 or the MediaTek Dimensity 8400, but nothing is confirmed yet. Given that the CE4 came with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, a bump up in performance makes perfect sense.

The rest of the internals are also up in the air, but UFS 3.1 storage is almost guaranteed. The CE4 had it, and OnePlus usually doesn’t downgrade key specs between generations. If either of those chips ends up in the final product, expect strong mid-range performance, especially for everyday tasks and casual gaming.

Battery and Charging

This is where it gets exciting. The Nord CE5 is rumored to pack a massive 7,100mAh battery — one of the biggest we’ve seen in any OnePlus phone. If true, this could easily power users through two full days, even with heavy use.

Charging specs haven’t leaked yet, but the CE4 supported 100W fast charging, so anything less than that would be surprising.

Software and Features

The Nord CE5 will likely ship with OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14, unless OnePlus surprises us with Android 15 out of the box. Expect a clean UI, minimal bloat, and decent optimization.

Reasons to Buy

  • Massive 7,100mAh battery = serious endurance
  • Potentially powerful chipset (Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 or Dimensity 8400)
  • Likely AMOLED 120Hz display
  • OnePlus’ clean software experience

Reasons Not to Buy

  • Unknown camera specs might disappoint shutterbugs
  • Big battery could mean a bulkier device
  • Launch timeline still unclear

Comparison with Competitors

If that 7,100mAh battery rumor pans out, the CE5 will have a clear edge over mid-range rivals like the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, Samsung Galaxy M15, or even the Realme Narzo 70 Pro. Most of them max out around 5,000–6,000mAh.

Pricing and Availability

Pricing hasn’t been leaked yet, but if OnePlus follows tradition, expect a launch price between ₹22,000 and ₹27,000. Availability will likely be via Amazon India and the OnePlus store, as always.

Conclusion

The OnePlus Nord CE5 could turn heads in the mid-range space — especially if that massive 7,100mAh battery becomes a reality. While many details are still under wraps, early signs suggest a strong balance of power, endurance, and display quality. If OnePlus gets the pricing right, this might just be one of the best battery-focused phones of 2025.
