Lava Shark 2

Lava just slipped a new budget phone into Indian stores today. The Lava Shark 2 is official, and it sticks to the basics in a good way. No flash sales, no drama. It’s an offline-only buy, so you’ll need to walk into a nearby shop to grab one.

Here’s the quick story. The headline feature is the 120Hz screen. On a budget phone at this price, that’s rare and honestly the main reason people will care. It’s a big 6.75-inch display with a small notch up top. The resolution is HD+, so text won’t look razor sharp on a panel this size, but the smooth scrolling does make everyday use feel snappy.

Inside, Lava went with the Unisoc T7250. The company says it crosses 375,000 on AnTuTu, which puts it solidly in “daily tasks without fuss” territory. Think chats, short videos, maps, and light gaming. Not the pick for heavy 3D games, and that’s fine at this price. You get 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, plus 4GB of virtual RAM to keep a few more apps in memory.

The software is clean. Android 15 out of the box, no ads, no preloaded junk. That alone will make a lot of folks happy. For photos, there’s a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera. Expect decent daylight shots and quick social-ready photos. Battery is a 5,000mAh unit with 18W charging, which is pretty standard.

IP54 rating is a nice surprise here, so it can handle light splashes and dust. The glossy back will pick up fingerprints, but it does look fresh out of the box. Lava is also promising free doorstep service, which you almost never see in this bracket.

Colors are Aurora Gold and Eclipse Gray. There’s just one trim, and the price is simple: ₹7,500, with an instant ₹750 bank discount dropping it to ₹6,750 if you qualify. Again, offline-only, so check a local retailer.
