The OnePlus 15 just made its first public appearance, and it’s already stirring up excitement. A device with model number PLK110 showed up on Geekbench, and all signs point to this being OnePlus’s next flagship phone.
The benchmark results reveal some pretty interesting details. This thing is packing Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, which hasn’t even been officially announced yet. The processor is built with two high-power cores running at 4.61 GHz, paired with six performance-focused cores clocked at 3.63 GHz. That’s some serious horsepower right there.
What caught people’s attention is the 16GB of RAM showing up in the test. Plus, the phone was running Android 16, which tells us OnePlus is planning to ship with Google’s latest software out of the box. Now, before anyone gets too excited about the benchmark scores being low, that’s totally normal for early prototypes. These test units aren’t running at full speed yet.
Meanwhile, in China, well-known tipster Digital Chat Station shared some fresh details on what might be coming. The OnePlus 15 will apparently sport a 6.78-inch screen with what they’re calling “1.5K” resolution. That’s actually a step down from the 2K display on the current OnePlus 13, but it might help with battery life.
Speaking of options, this phone is going to come in quite a few configurations. We’re looking at 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, and even a massive 16GB/1TB variant. That should cover pretty much everyone’s needs.
The color lineup is where things get really interesting. OnePlus is planning three options: black, purple, and something called “Titanium”. Don’t get too excited about that last one though – it’s probably just a fancy name rather than actual titanium construction. Still, based on the leaked renders, all three colors look pretty slick with the rumored new design.
This new design is actually a big deal. OnePlus is ditching the circular camera bump we’ve seen on recent models and going with a more rectangular setup. Some people are saying it looks similar to what they did with the OnePlus 13’s style, but positioned differently on the back.
The camera system itself sounds promising too. We’re hearing about a 50MP main shooter and a periscope zoom camera in the triple setup. OnePlus might also be ending their partnership with Hasselblad and switching to OPPO’s Lumo Image Engine for photo processing.
Battery life could be a real standout feature. The OnePlus 15 is expected to pack a massive 7,000mAh battery, which would be significantly larger than most flagship phones today. Pair that with 100W fast charging, and you’ve got a phone that should easily last all day and charge up super quick.
The launch timeline follows OnePlus’s usual pattern. China gets first dibs in October 2025, while everyone else will probably have to wait until early 2026. It’s a bit of a wait, but considering what we’re seeing in these early leaks, it might be worth it.
What makes this whole thing even more intriguing is that OnePlus is skipping the number 14 entirely. In Chinese culture, the number 4 is considered unlucky, so jumping straight to 15 makes perfect sense from a marketing perspective.
The fact that we’re already seeing Geekbench results and detailed specs this early suggests OnePlus is further along in development than usual. With Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 expected to be announced in late September, the timing lines up perfectly for an October reveal.
This early peek at the OnePlus 15 shows a company that’s not afraid to make some bold changes. The new design, powerful specs, and massive battery could make this one of the most compelling Android flagships of 2025.
