Lava Blaze Dragon Debuts SD 4 Gen 2, Big Battery, 120Hz Display

Lava’s back with another bold entry in the Blaze lineup, and this time, they’re aiming right at budget buyers who aren’t happy settling for slow, bloatware-packed phones. Meet the Lava Blaze Dragon, officially revealed today. The brand’s clearly hoping to grab attention not just with that eye-catching name, but also with some genuinely modern features at a wallet-friendly price.

Performance

The heart of the Lava Blaze Dragon is Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, which is fast enough for daily multitasking, light gaming, and endless scrolling without annoying slowdowns. You get 4GB of fast LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of speedy UFS 3.1 storage. That means more space for photos and smoother performance as you jump between your favorite apps.

And here’s something you don’t see every day in this price segment: Lava says the Dragon runs Android 15 right out of the box, with absolutely no bloatware. That’s a clean, clutter-free experience you can start using right away. Plus, Lava promises at least one Android OS upgrade and two years of security patches.

Display

Big, fluid screens with fast response. The Blaze Dragon delivers a 6.74-inch HD+ LCD with a super-smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Swiping between apps or scrolling through Instagram feels quick and lively. You also get a solid 450 nits peak brightness so you won’t be squinting outdoors.

Battery

It has a big 5,000mAh battery and charges with a USB-C cable up to 18 watts. You might not get fast top-ups like on flagship phones, but you should easily last a full day without stress.

Cameras

You’ll find a 50MP main camera on the back, so you can expect solid results for daytime photography. Lava has paired it with a secondary depth sensor for better portrait shots, and for selfies, there’s an 8MP camera up front—sharp enough for video calls or quick snaps with friends.

Extras

The Blaze Dragon isn’t ditching classic features people love. There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack for those who still prefer wired headphones. Security’s simple, too, thanks to a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for easy unlocking.

Lava Blaze Dragon Price, Colors and Sale Date

You get two color choices: Golden Mist and Midnight Mist. Both offer a premium finish that’s hard to find at this price. Speaking of price, the Blaze Dragon lands at just ₹9,999 in India (around $115 or €100 as of today). Sales start on August 1st, exclusively through Amazon India.

Final Thoughts

For anyone looking for an affordable smartphone in 2025 that doesn’t feel “outdated”, the Lava Blaze Dragon packs all that matters. The fast display, clean software, and reliable hardware make it stand out, especially since most phones in this range cut corners, but this one doesn’t. If you’re after value, or just want your next 5G phone to work without fuss, give the new Dragon a look.

Looking ahead, Lava has another new release, the Blaze AMOLED 2, on the way soon. Stay tuned for more details.
