The Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ is poised to make headlines as the first smartphone to use MediaTek’s brand-new Helio G200 CPU. Tecno officially confirmed on May 12, 2025, that the Spark 40 Pro+ will headline its upcoming Spark 40 series, which is scheduled for a global launch in July.

Helio G200 Chipset: What’s New?

MediaTek’s latest 4G chip, the Helio G200, is built using TSMC’s advanced 6nm process, bringing improved efficiency and performance to the table. It has an octacore CPU with two Cortex-A76 cores running at 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0 GHz. Tecno claims the G200 delivers over 10% better performance than the previous G100, with an AnTuTu score of around 470,000. The Mali-G57 MC2 GPU now runs at 1.1GHz, a boost over earlier G-series chips, and the Spark 40 Pro+ will support custom super-resolution algorithms for 1.5K graphics rendering.

Display and Design

The Spark 40 Pro+ packs a 6.88-inch AMOLED screen that refreshes at 120Hz, promising punchy visuals and ultra-smooth scrolling. Tecno emphasizes a slim build for the entire Spark 40 series, continuing its focus on stylish, modern design.

Network and Connectivity

A standout feature is 4G DC SAR (Dynamic Communication Smart Adaptive Response), a technology designed to improve data speeds and efficiency in areas with weak signal strength. This should translate to better streaming, gaming, and overall connectivity, especially for users in challenging network environments.

Camera and Imaging

While Tecno hasn’t revealed full camera specs yet, the Helio G200 brings 12-bit DCG (Dual Conversion Gain) support, which should enhance HDR video quality significantly. More details about the Spark 40 Pro+ camera hardware are expected closer to launch.

AI and User Experience

Tecno is also promising new AI features across the Spark 40 lineup, aiming to deliver a smarter, more responsive user experience. The series will run the latest version of HiOS, based on Android 15.

Battery and Charging

Official battery capacity and charging specs for the Spark 40 Pro+ are yet to be announced. However, Tecno’s recent devices in this segment have offered large batteries and fast charging, so similar or better features are likely.

Global Launch and Availability

Tecno’s Spark 40 Pro+ is set to headline the Spark 40 lineup, with a global launch planned for July 2025. Pricing and detailed regional availability will be revealed at launch.

Why It Matters

The Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ is not just about a new chipset it’s about raising the bar for budget and mid-range smartphones with better performance, smarter connectivity, and a premium display. With the Helio G200, Tecno is aiming to redefine what users can expect from affordable devices in 2025.
