Realme GT 7 Review: Should You Buy It?

Realme GT 7 Review

Review Overview

Let’s get one thing straight: the Realme GT 7 in India is not your average phone. It’s got a bigger AMOLED screen, a super-fast Dimensity 9400e chip, and a triple camera setup that’s ready for anything—making it stand out from the Chinese GT7. Curious what else sets it apart? Let’s dive in.

Realme GT 7 Review Design & Build

The Realme GT 7 feels like a premium phone in your hand, but it’s not too heavy or slippery. It’s got a solid build, mostly glass and metal, but the sides have a nice matte finish that helps you grip it. The phone is slim enough for one-handed use, which is great for texting or scrolling through Instagram. It’s not the lightest phone out there, but it doesn’t feel chunky either. Also, it comes with an IP69 ingress resistance rating.

Realme GT 7 Display

The 6.78-inch AMOLED screen is a real treat. Colors pop, and it’s super smooth thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate. Watching Netflix or YouTube is a blast, and even in bright sunlight, you can see everything clearly. Compared to something like the Redmi K70, which also has a 120Hz AMOLED, the Realme GT 7 feels just as smooth, but maybe a little brighter outdoors.

Realme GT 7 Processor

This thing is fast. Opening apps, switching between chats, and playing casual games is a breeze. You can have WhatsApp, Instagram, and a bunch of Chrome tabs open at the same time, and it still won’t slow down. The MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chip inside is more than enough for most people’s daily needs.

Rear Camera:
The main 50MP + 50MP telephoto (2x optical zoom) + 8MP ultra-wide camera takes really sharp photos in daylight. Skin tones look natural, and shadows are well-balanced. Portrait mode does a good job blurring the background, though sometimes it misses a few hairs around the edges. In low light, photos are decent, but not amazing—they can get a bit noisy in dim cafes.

Front Camera:
32 MP Sony IMX615, Selfies look crisp and clear outdoors. Indoors, they lose a bit of detail, but still look good enough for Instagram. Video calls are clear, and the camera handles most lighting pretty well.

Realme GT 7 Battery

The 7,000mAh battery is a beast. I used the phone all day—Spotify, Maps, YouTube, and some gaming—and still had juice left at bedtime. If you’re a heavy user, you might need to charge it after dinner, but for most people, it’ll last a full day, no problem. Charging is crazy fast too—plug it in for 20 minutes, and you’ll get about 50% battery back.

Realme GT 7 Software

It comes with Android 15, layered with Realme UI 6.0 for a custom experience. The software is clean and easy to use, but there are a few preloaded apps you might want to delete. Realme promises updates, which is always a plus. No annoying ads, and everything feels snappy.

Realme GT 7 Audio & Haptics

The stereo speakers are loud and clear—great for watching movies or listening to music. The haptics (vibration feedback) feel a bit soft and not as clicky as some other phones, but it’s not a dealbreaker.

Realme’s early bird promo (live until June 9, 2025) shaves about ₹9,700 (or roughly €100) off the price and includes a free charger. If you ask me, that’s a solid reason to hit the buy button sooner rather than later.

Final Verdict

The Realme GT 7 is a great choice if you want a fast, reliable phone with a huge battery and a smooth screen. It’s perfect for students, professionals, or anyone who wants a phone that can keep up with a busy day. If you’re a photography buff who loves shooting in low light, you might want to look elsewhere. But for most people, the GT 7 is a fantastic deal at this price.
