The Poco F7 is about to join the family — and it’s shaping up to be one of the best value flagships of the year. While its big brothers, the Poco F7 Pro and F7 Ultra, already use top-tier chips like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite, the standard F7 is doing something a little different. It’s bringing the brand-new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 into the spotlight.

Let’s break it down what this phone is offering.

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Gets Real with Poco F7

Thanks to a fresh Geekbench 6.4.0 listing, we now know that the Poco F7 is running on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. The test device shows up as Xiaomi model 25053PC47G, and what makes it clear is the GPU mentioned — Adreno 825. That GPU is currently exclusive to this new chip, so there’s no confusion here.

What’s cool about the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4?

  • It’s built on TSMC’s 4nm process (N4P), which is really efficient.
  • It skips the usual low-power A5xx cores and instead uses all high-performance ones — including a Cortex-X4 prime core at 3.2GHz.
  • The chip comes with three Cortex-A720 cores at 3.0GHz, two more A720 cores at 2.8GHz, and two at 2.0GHz.
  • The processor is made up of three Cortex-A720 cores running at 3.0GHz, plus two additional A720 cores clocked at 2.8GHz, and two more set to 2.0GHz.

This means you’re getting serious performance — not just for everyday stuff like apps and multitasking, but even for gaming and heavy editing.

Poco F7 May Launch with 12GB RAM by Default

The Geekbench listing showed the F7 unit tested had 12GB of RAM, and it looks like that’s not just a test version. Himanshu Tandon, the head of Poco India, posted a Twitter poll asking fans what should be the starting RAM for a flagship-level device. The answer? A huge majority voted for 12GB as the base.

So, if this hint holds true, the Poco F7 base variant will start at 12GB RAM, which is pretty wild for its expected price range. That would make it one of the few phones in its class to offer flagship-like memory out of the box.

What Will the Poco F7 Look Like?

We don’t have the final design or full specs yet, but we have a strong clue — it’s likely based on the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, which already uses the same Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.

Here’s what the Redmi version offers, and what we might expect from the Poco F7:

FeatureExpected Poco F7 Specs
Display6.83-inch 12-bit AMOLED, 120Hz refresh rate
ProcessorSnapdragon 8s Gen 4
GPUAdreno 825
RAM12GB or 16GB
Storage256GB, 512GB, or 1TB
Battery7,550mAh
Charging90W wired fast charging
Rear Cameras50MP main + 8MP ultrawide
Front CameraTBD
Operating SystemLikely HyperOS based on Android 14

If Poco sticks to this base, then the F7 is going to be a serious competitor in the “flagship features at mid-range price” category.

When Will the Poco F7 Launch?

While the exact Poco F7 launch date hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, although it’s teased on Flipkart, it’s expected to drop by the end of June 2025, especially since the Pro and Ultra variants are already out. The Geekbench test also suggests the final-stage testing is complete, which usually means the launch is very close.

As for the Poco F7 price, we don’t have official numbers yet, but if it follows Redmi Turbo 4 Pro pricing, we can expect something like this:

RegionExpected Price (Approx)
India₹29,999 – ₹34,999
Europe€399 – €449
USA$399 – $449 (if launched)

Final Thoughts

The Poco F7 is quietly shaping up to be a phone that offers a flagship-level chipset, generous RAM, and strong battery life — all at a more affordable price. With the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Geekbench scores now out in the wild and Poco execs teasing details, the phone is nearly ready to roll.

If you’re someone who wants high performance without spending a fortune, keep an eye out for the Poco F7 launch later this month.
