OnePlus 13 Gets Android 16 Beta 2: Here's How to Try It

Want to test Android 16 early? OnePlus 13 now supports Android 16 Beta 2. Here’s how to install it (and roll back if needed).

Android 16 Beta is Here — But Only for OnePlus 13

Android 16 is rolling out a bit early this year.
And guess what? OnePlus is the first brand (outside Google) to jump on board.

Only the OnePlus 13 is currently receiving Android 16 Beta 2.
No Beta 1 — it skipped right to 2.

If you’ve got the phone and want to try new stuff early, you can install it today.
Just know, it’s still a beta — so bugs are expected.

Read This First

Before you dive in, a few quick warnings:

  • Your data will be wiped. So please, back it up.
  • Charge your phone above 30%.
  • Keep at least 4GB free storage.
  • Only works if your current software is 15.0.0.703 or lower.
  • T-Mobile and Verizon models won’t work.

How to Install Android 16 Beta 2

Method 1: For India & EU Users

  1. Back up everything. This is super important.
  2. Download the right beta ROM for your region.
  3. Move the file to your phone storage.
  4. Go to Settings > About device > tap Build Number 7 times to unlock developer mode.
  5. Head to Settings > About device > Up to date.
  6. Tap the 3-dot menu > Local install.
  7. Choose the ROM file, tap Extract > Upgrade.
  8. Once done, tap Restart.

The new Android 16 beta system is ready to start.

Method 2: For North America (NA) Users

  1. Back up your data.
  2. Download the correct ROM (NA version).
  3. Download and install the OnePlus Local Update APK.
  4. Open the app, tap the gear icon, and pick your update file.
  5. Install and reboot.

Done!

Known Bugs in Beta 2

Don’t expect a smooth ride just yet. Here are some known issues:

  • Can’t close the update pop-up.
  • Camera viewfinder might lag or crash.
  • Bluetooth calls might restart the phone.
  • Font settings don’t work.
  • Screen might freeze randomly.
  • Some camera modes crash.
  • Lag when locking the screen.

So yeah — not perfect. Be ready to deal with some hiccups.

Want to Go Back to Android 15?

Changed your mind? No problem.

You can roll back easily:

  1. Download the rollback file for your region.
  2. Follow the same “local install” steps.
  3. This will wipe your data again — so back up first.

Final Thoughts

It’s exciting to try Android 16 on your OnePlus 13.
You’ll be able to use the new features far earlier than most people.

But remember — it’s not stable yet. If your phone is your daily driver, maybe hold off.

If you’re feeling curious (and a little brave), go for it.
