Honor has officially unveiled the Honor 400 Lite, the latest addition to its numbered smartphone series. In a saturated mid-range market, the 400 Lite aims to stand out with an eye-catching 108MP main camera, a vibrant 120Hz AMOLED display, and a clean flat-frame design.

First Impressions: Mid-Range with Premium Vibes

After a series of leaks, Honor’s launch confirms the 400 Lite as a well-rounded smartphone geared toward users who prioritize display quality and social media-friendly photography. Positioned alongside competitors like the Samsung Galaxy A35 and Redmi Note 14 Pro, it’s got some standout features to lean on.

Design: Flat-Edged, Flash-Forward

The 400 Lite features a modern flat-frame chassis available in three colors: Black, Aqua Blue, and Gray/Silver. A distinctive triangular rear camera module gives it a fresh look, stepping away from Honor’s previous oval and circular layouts.

Durability gets a nod too — the device is rated IP65 for dust and water resistance and carries an SGS five-star drop resistance certification.

Display: 120Hz AMOLED for Smooth Scrolling

Honor didn’t skimp on the screen. A 6.7-inch flat AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2412) delivers rich visuals, and the 120Hz refresh rate adds fluidity to everything from web browsing to gaming.

There’s also an in-display optical fingerprint sensor — a welcome modern touch that helps keep the sides clean.

Cameras: 108MP Main Sensor, Front Flash Surprise

The standout here is clearly the 108MP main rear camera (f/1.8). While megapixels aren’t everything, the sensor enables detailed captures and supports 3x lossless zoom, likely via in-sensor cropping.

The secondary 5MP ultrawide camera is more modest — useful for group shots or wide scenes, though unlikely to impress in low light.

Up front, a 16MP selfie camera sits in a pill-shaped cutout. The twist? It’s accompanied by a dedicated LED front-facing flash, a rarity even in 2025, aimed at boosting low-light selfies.

Performance: Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7025

Inside, the 400 Lite runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7025-Ultra, a 6nm chipset that’s designed for efficient, everyday performance. Paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, it should easily handle social media, video streaming, and moderate gaming.

No microSD slot means there’s no expandable storage, but 256GB should suffice for most users.

Battery & Charging: All-Day Power, Respectable Speeds

The phone houses a 5,500mAh battery, one of the largest in its class. Combined with the efficient Dimensity chip, it’s built to comfortably last a full day — possibly two.

Charging comes in at 35W wired, which is decent, if not chart-topping. Several rivals now offer 67W or faster, but 35W is still respectable for the price.

Software: Android 14 with MagicOS 8.0

The Honor 400 Lite ships with Android 14, topped with MagicOS 8.0. Early rumors of Android 15 were incorrect, though MagicOS adds smart AI features like photo erasing, live translation, and scene detection — many of which are now staples in Honor’s software skin.

Reasons to Buy

  • 108MP main camera for detailed, high-resolution shots
  • 120Hz AMOLED display for smooth visuals
  • Unique selfie flash for better low-light portraits
  • 5,500mAh battery for excellent endurance
  • In-display fingerprint scanner and IP65 rating for added value
  • 256GB of internal storage

Reasons to Skip

  • Basic 5MP ultrawide camera
  • No expandable storage via microSD
  • Charging speed lags behind some competitors
  • Not ideal for high-end gaming workloads

Pricing & Availability

Early listings in Europe — including Hungarian retailers — peg the Honor 400 Lite around €350 (approx. HUF 138,000), discounted from its original launch pricing near €400. Official availability for wider markets like the UK and Asia is expected later in April 2025.

Final Verdict: A Camera-Focused Mid-Ranger Done Right

Honor’s 400 Lite proves that a mid-range phone can still offer standout features — most notably that 108MP camera and front selfie flash, wrapped in a sleek, durable body with a vibrant display.

If you can look past the underwhelming ultrawide camera and relatively slow charging, the 400 Lite shapes up as a solid choice for anyone after a stylish, photo-friendly smartphone that won’t push them into flagship pricing territory.
