Samsung has officially introduced the Exynos 2500, its latest flagship chip built for next-gen devices, just in time for the Galaxy Z Flip7, launching on July 9, 2025. After missing the Galaxy S25 lineup, the Exynos 2500 is finally ready, and it’s packed with smart upgrades across performance, gaming, AI, and connectivity.
What’s New in the Exynos 2500?
The Exynos 2500 is built using Samsung’s new 3nm GAA (Gate-All-Around) process, which means it uses less power and stays cooler. It also uses a new chip packaging method called FOWLP, which helps make the chip thinner and better at handling heat, perfect for slim foldable phones like the Flip7.

Compared to the Exynos 2400, the new prime core is faster, and the mid-core setup is smarter, using two separate blocks helps save power without slowing things down.
For gaming, it uses the new Xclipse 950 GPU, based on AMD’s RDNA 3 tech. It’s bigger than last year’s Xclipse 940 and now supports 8 render backends and 8 work group processors. Samsung gave the Exynos 2500 a serious AI boost with a new NPU (Neural Processing Unit) rated for up to 59 TOPS, a 39% improvement over the Exynos 2400. This enables on-device AI tasks like better photo editing, voice translation, and smart features that don’t need the cloud.

The Exynos 2500 is officially in mass production according to Samsung’s website. That means we’ll almost certainly see it in the Galaxy Z Flip7, launching on July 9, 2025. The budget-friendly Z Flip 7 FE could still be powered by the previous-gen Exynos 2400 chip.

The Exynos 2500 might have missed the Galaxy S25, but it’s arriving strong for the second half of 2025.
