Nvidia Drops RTX 5060 Series: Faster, Smarter, Cheaper

Nvidia has just dropped a couple of new budget-friendly GPUs: the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti. These are perfect for gamers who want solid 1080p performance without emptying their wallets. The 5060 Ti goes live on April 16, 2025, and the 5060 will be hitting stores in May.

Both models are powered by Nvidia’s fresh Blackwell architecture and made using TSMC’s 4N process. You’ll also get DLSS 4, Multi Frame Generation (up to 4x), PCIe 5.0, and DisplayPort 2.1b support.

How Do They Perform?

Nvidia says the 5060 Ti and 5060 offer about a 20–25% bump in performance over their predecessors, especially in games that don’t use Multi Frame Generation. Expect smoother gameplay at 1080p and even at 1440p with the added punch of DLSS 4.

These figures are based on current leaks and may vary in official benchmarks once the GPUs are fully tested.

Where Do They Stand?

These GPUs are here to replace the RTX 3060 and 4060, offering a better gaming experience at nearly the same price. But here’s the catch—there won’t be Founders Edition models this time around. Instead, you’ll find these cards through third-party manufacturers. So, if you’re on a budget or looking to upgrade an older GPU, the 5060 and 5060 Ti could be exactly what you need, with modern features and solid performance without breaking the bank.
