What to Expect from the Xiaomi 15S Pro: UWB and Lightning-Fast Charging

Xiaomi 15S Pro

Looks like Xiaomi is cooking up something big. A recent leak points to two major upgrades in the upcoming Xiaomi 15S Pro — UWB (Ultra-Wideband) support and 90W fast charging. While the company hasn’t made anything official yet, certifications from Chinese regulators have given us a pretty clear picture of what’s coming. Here’s the lowdown.

A Quiet Certification Spill

The first hint came from a MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) filing for a device labeled 25042PN24C. If you’re not deep into model numbers, don’t worry — that one is widely believed to be the Xiaomi 15S Pro.

Buried in the paperwork? A clear mention of UWB transmission capability.

That same device was also spotted earlier in China’s 3C certification database, listing support for 90W wired fast charging. That’s seriously fast — way beyond the usual 65W or 67W we see on most phones today.

Why UWB Is a Big Deal

If you’re thinking, “Didn’t Apple already do UWB?” — yes. And so did Samsung. But for Xiaomi, this could be a game-changer.

UWB lets your phone know exactly where it is—down to centimeters. That kind of precision is what powers smart features like:

  • Digital car keys (unlock your car just by walking up to it)
  • Smart home control (point your phone at a speaker to control it)
  • Accurate device tracking (great for locating lost gadgets)

Xiaomi actually introduced UWB once before with the MIX 4. But it quietly disappeared from later phones. Now, with the 15S Pro, it looks like UWB is back — and possibly here to stay.

This Isn’t Just About Phones — It’s About Cars

Why bring back UWB now?

Here’s the interesting bit: Xiaomi is entering the electric vehicle game. And UWB plays a big role in modern car ecosystems — especially for features like keyless entry, driver profiles, and smart parking assist.

By putting UWB into its phones again, Xiaomi is laying the groundwork for a tighter ecosystem between its smartphones and its upcoming cars. Think Apple-style continuity — but in the Android world.

Blazing-Fast Charging? Yep, 90W

Another win for the power-hungry crowd: 90W charging.

That’s fast enough to go from nearly dead to 100% in around 25–30 minutes (depending on the battery size). It’s not Xiaomi’s absolute fastest (they’ve gone up to 120W before), but it’s still way faster than the average flagship.

For reference, Samsung’s latest Galaxy phones charge at 45W max. Even the iPhone is stuck under 30W.

What We Still Don’t Know

Of course, these leaks don’t give us the full picture. Here’s what’s still a mystery:

  • Processor: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3? Or something newer?
  • Cameras: Will Xiaomi go big again with Leica co-engineered lenses?
  • Display: AMOLED? LTPO? High brightness and refresh rate?
  • Design: Will it stay sleek or try something bold?

Basically, the leak covers the “under-the-hood” tech — but the rest of the story will have to wait.

Final Thoughts

The Xiaomi 15S Pro is shaping up to be more than just another Android flagship. With UWB and 90W charging, it’s clear Xiaomi is planning ahead — not just for phones, but for a full ecosystem that includes smart homes and smart cars.

If you’re someone who values speed, smart features, and future-proof tech, this could be a phone to keep your eyes on.
